
i figured after the corrections for the junk TH400 tranny i'm running it should be about the numbers in my sig.. give or take a little...
the dyno tech guy said that if i spent some time tuning it he guarantees an easy 50 more HP. It's running pig rich right now... He also suggested that i go down to a smaller carb and go with a Holley instead of an edelbrock.

i dont see much more power coming out of those heads honestly, although the holley carb would pick up some more HP for sure.
i've often thought about a vortech top end... if the wife lets me keep the car i might end up going that direction... i need to make some adjustments to my driveway first though... i have 3 cars now and she's got 1

bonestock 882 heads, torker intake. 240RWHP? ~300HP? I think you did pretty amazing given the parts in it.

Note the continuous downward-sloping torque curve, as opposed to rising to a peak and then decreasing....
That's what gives typical low-perf motors that great feeling of grunt when you hit the gas, and what feels like a big launch when the trans shifts; but takes FOREVER to get from 4000 to 4500 RPM, and it won't pass a 4-cyl minivan on the freeway.
That combo makes its peak torque at some RPM BELOW the dyno run.... i.e. down in the 2000s somewhere. Basically it's already done at 3000 RPM, and should be shifted at some RPM such that it returns to 3000 RPM or lower after the shift.
The fingerprint of poor flow; in this case, from the heads.
Since it's clearly not the exhaust or the cam.

The graph says the longer you hold it in a lower gear, the less it pulls. That's the definition of "torque": how hard it pulls. That's what the graph is showing you: how hard it pulls. And how hard it pulls is, continuously less and less the higher the RPMs go.While it's impossible to know what's going on below 3000 RPMs from that dyno run, it's also highly unlikely that the peak torque occurs at EXACTLY 3000 RPM; which means it's ALREADY into its downward-sloping curve at that RPM. I.e., it's already peaked at some lower RPM, and 3000 RPM is past peak torque.
Your next upgrade should be heads.
