Timing Marker
I can't seem to find the timing plate with the degree markings on it. The only thread I found that was somewhat useful was the one where it indicated that it may have fallen off.
When looking at the engine from the front bumper, can someone tell me where the plate should be locate on LG4 in '87 T/A? Should it be easily visible looking down at the pulley? If I have a general location to look, left, right, under, behind, remove gas tank and transmission to access a bold that needs to be removed so that the timing marker is visible behind the head after removing the engine...
Also, in the event that I'm just stupid and it did fall off, how do I go about replacing it?

I think he's looking for the timing comb, not the timing mark on the balancer.
If your engine is stock, it will be welded to the timing cover.

Look either down at 2 O clock on the balancer from the drivers side front corver, or behind the water pump. Should see something.
