Gas smell after new tank, fuel pump, and strainer

I took the car in after suspected fuel pump problem. I wasnt generating enough pressure with the previous one (pressure reg was part of the problem but not all of it- that got replaced too).

Anyway, during the install, they noticed that I had cracked around the filler neck weld (just like the safety bulletin). Had them drop a new tank in.

Now, I get gas odor right by the driver rear tire. Havent noticed it on the passenger side.

I'm worried that the gasket at the lock ring isnt seated, or maybe that little gas vent line underneathe. I looked at the forward and return lines under the car and didnt notice any leaks as far as I could tell. The gas vent line wasnt seated, so I corrected that. It didnt make any difference (although I didnt think it would).

Any thoughts?

Maybe I should buy a new gas cap.
