Rough Idoling
I've noticed that when my car is idoling at a red light or something that the whole car will vibrate like mad...bad enough to make me put it in neutral untill the light is green again...i think its that the idol isnt turned up enough...it idols just above 500 RPM i think when its in drive...in park or neutral it idols at about 750 RPM but its rough...I always thought that it was because it has a carb...but ive heard that a cab should still idol smoothly...it will idol up and down anywhere from about 600 RPM to 800 RPM sometimes...also when i really rev the engine i noticed that the higher the engine revs the brighter my dash lights get lol..then when the engine makes its way back to idol they dim again...same with my headlights and tail lights...what could this be?...thx
it sounds as if the base idle speed is incorrect - i'm gonna assume that your 85 is the same as my 84 and the idle speed on my 84 is 650 RPM in gear which will be approximately 800 in park

the correct idle speed should help with the dimming lights
the rough part of your complaint could be several things - timing, need a tune up etc etc i could make a really really long list of things
