fuel pump, sending unit, and a shady shop..
So, after having what seemed to be a fuel injection problem, I started with changing my fuel filter and spark plugs. Problem not solved and short on time, I took my car to get a diagnostic at a local shop... They tell me it's the fuel pump.. Problem is, upon installing the new pump, they call me, say something isn't "jive-ing" with my fuel system, and that I need to let them order and install a new Fuel Pump Sending Unit... for an additional $700...(part only)...!!!!! I said screw you and got my car towed back to the casa... The first thing I notice when I pop the hood is the hose connecting to the PCV filter in the air cleaner housing is, not disconnected, but.. missing! pissed and moving on, after lowering my exhaust and all the fun stuff with fuel tank removal, I have the tank completely off, and want to hook up power directly to the pump to actually see fuel coming from the feed line so I can eliminate the pump issue.. I guess 2 seconds after turning the key isn't enough to see fuel coming from the feed line? Question is, having not done this before, which of the three electrical wires off the pump connector do I run power to? I just don't feel like having a 4th of july fireworks party this week, you know?
thanks for taking the time to read this....
