2 motor ?'s
ok to start the motor is in a 77 celica racer.
just the normal stock lower half 4-bolt 72 350. runnin nos, got a noise to it sounded like a lifter. took the covers off and then it sounded like a lower end noise n/p startedd pullin lifters and they were fairly ate up, so we changed the cam out for a better then stock lunati w/458 lift, 240 dur, fired it up for the breakin and it ran like a rape date, noise was still there. pull the pan off and # 1,2 cons were loose, and # 3 piston was about 3/4 of the way busted off at the wrist pin.
any ideas why that would happen?
where the piston cracked on the wall is no groves. I could just run a hone through it right?
and any ideas on what some one would charge for it?
and now would be a good time to go 383 no?
like to get the car into the 10's no nos.

I don't think the cam swap and piston problem are related. I'm not totally sure what happened though, your post isn't all that clear.
n/p? it started pulling lifters?
I'd get your machinist to check the bores, it may have ovalized it, and not look bad to the naked eye. Assuming it didn't, and the bores are reasonably in spec, yea, you can just run a hone through it. The machine shop can do it, or you can.
and yea, good time for a 383, since you'll be replacing the bottom end.
