Will a hatch motor from a '92 work in a '91?
My son's hatch motor is working on his '91 RS (runs up and down and stops like it's suppose too) but will not pull the hatch down. I did a search and read some things about checking for play. It has fore and aft play, not side to side.
From what I read from the search, it's apparently the early '91 verison as the spare one I have (parted from a '92 RS) has a tan frame and looks somewhat different from a birds eye view.
Will the newer version (tan frame) work in a '91? The '91 does not have a release switch in the console, but I salvaged the motor, harness and switch from the '92 with intentions of upgrading so he'll have a realease switch on the console. I've already converted from manual windows to electric, also salvaged from the '92.
Thanks in advance for any help!
