Oil Pan replacement
Oil Pan replacement
I have a crack in a oil pan. I have searched and read something you can't replace the pan in a 3rd gen if it is a manual. Is that true? my car is a 92 Z28 305 TPI/5speed and don't want to pull the motor just yet. Any advice?
Thanks

That's true, the bellhousing is too large to let the oil pan out back.
You can remove your tranny, and try to lift the motor up, with a crane (pretty much pulling the motor), but that's really your only bet.
Or some metal reinforced epoxy over the leak, or some other way to plug the hole. But boy, epoxy to hold oil in the motor makes me nervous.
