Cam advice
I am looking for the best cam for my intended application. I have an '89 IROC convertible with a 350 and stock t-5 tranny. Fresh RAM clutch and SPEC flywheel. 3" flowmaster exhaust w/Edelbrock headers. I am not too confidant in my knowledge of cam options. This being the case, after checking out Com Cams site, I am considering the following:
#08-306-8: 230/244 duration with .510/.540 lift and 112 Lobe Seperation
#08-503-8: 224/230 duration with .503/.510 lift and 112 Lobe Seperation
#08-305-8: 220/230 duration with .510/.510 lift and 114 Lobe Seperation
I intend to also add AFR 180 heads, SLP runners and un after-marrket base, all of which will be mildly ported. Advice on either the cam options or my intended future mods would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to focus on low and midrange torque rather than top horse power (stoplight warrior). I am reading and learning, but I still have a lot to go.

I think that the longer duration cams run stronger at high RPM's. I think that the either the 224/230 w/112 or 220/230 w/114 would be good choices.

I agree. Not sure how much top end abilities you'll get from that intake setup, so i'd err on the lower RPM side (along with the fact you say stop light warrior, and not high rpm screamer).
The 08-305-8 (220/230) is a CS 276H-R14. Not a bad choice.
Check on the XFI line of cams, just be wary that their lift #'s are shown with 1.6 rockers, so do the math, and compare it fairly.

How about the rest of it? Decently suited to low torque? I've been considering roller rockers, but have no idea whether 1.5 or 1.6 is best... or if I even need them a all for what I'm trying to accomplish.
And thanks for the input, guys.
