what type do i need spark plugs and wires

was wandering what type of spark plugs and wires to go with have a 87 iroc-z 5.7L stock except for computer chips and edlebrock E-tech headers. when got header i decided to let jet hot coat them

I would go with a set of MSD wires and NGK plugs. Whatever you do DO NOT use the Bosch platinums lots of people have problems with those and theyre expensive.

the platinum's you refer to are the platinum 4's ... the 2's are fine.

they may not have as much problems as the 4s but platinum doesnt conduct electricity as well as good ole fashion ones do. I know alot of people with MSD ignitions have problems with any platinum plugs.

I have the 5.7 tpi and run ac-delco plugs with no problems at all & they are $2 each . And yes , a good set of wires is a must

I'm not going to argue spark plug voltage requirement differences when you're using an aftermarket coil ignition system to boost the voltage above stock anyway. Platinum is supposed to require more voltage, that's what gives it a stronger spark...and that on top of its durability is what makes it attractive as a spark plug.
