ok i was going down the road today and all of a sudden i went to hit the throttle and nothing... let of the peddal and it back fired... now when i let off the gas and clutch coming to a stop it just dies.... put it into a gear and pop it and it starts right back up.... now i have recently replaced the cap and rotor the carb. fuel pump, spark plugs, wires... so i dont understand what it is if any one has any idea please let me know... even in normal driving i am getting the car is back firring.... now i know it is the 305 cqjet pretty well stock... and the h motor made in the usa... pleasehelp me...

 

ok i feel stupid i guess when i was driving it home and before i stopped to get gas i was getting close to empty and i sucked air through the gas lines and that is what was causing the problem...

 

Carb will do that time to time...
