distributor hold down clamp question plz help!!

If anyone has their engine open up to intake manifold,
I have a really simple question that will give me a good night sleep

since my last engine job(intake manifold gasket, new lifters),
I'm getting what it sounds like a backfire or a knock.. not sure which one but its pretty loud.

"And I am missing my distrbutor hold down clamp"
I bought a new one and used it, but I can never find my old one..

I have zero compression from cyl 1 and 3.
my car is a v6 so I know my manifold holes could be little smaller
than most of ur v8's, but my question is that:

is the distributor hold down clamp small enough to enter or slide into,
either the distrbutor housing hole, or the intake manifold holes?

Its either I overtightened my rocker or I dropped the clamp and I knocked it so Im just scared to death as im too broke for another engine and a bit too rookie to swap an engine myself.. or rebuild them.

in advance to u all for ur support.. thanks

No, the clamp won't fit down the hole. The bolt would though.

Wont fit, and it's reasons like this that I cover my distributor shaft hole with duct tape when working. Dropped an intake bolt down there one time, took me 30 minutes to fish it out with a magnet...I don't think I was ever more scared in my life.

thank god of camaros the car is once again alive!

it seems that I over tightened my intake valve on cyl#1 and 3,
that it was just backfiring..

I still cant find the hold down clamp, nor have any idea on where it went,
but i guess im good to go for now!!

ur advice and opinion and yeah it really WAS
the scariest moment in my life lol
