TPI map issue I think
my buddy is having issues with his tpi vehicle, it is a speed density setup. problem is when he fires it up, it hunts for idle, raises up and real low in the rpm about 3 times before it settles, if we unplug the map sensor, it starts up just fine! we borrowed a new map sensor from work, plugged it in real quick, and the same issue with the hunting idle. but of coarse, if we unplug it, it fires up just fine and idles perfectly. what could cause this?

It's just a little too lean, that's all. Could be lots of carbon absorbing the fuel at first startup. Could be ECT sensor problem. Could be a lot of things. Check the basics first, like base timing, and fuel pressure.
Is it stock?
