350 with T-5?
350 with T-5?
So the Trans Am i just bought it suppose to have a 350 in it, but it has a 5-speed trans (original as far as i know)
Now you couldnt get a T-5 350 from the factory could you?
What is the easiest/best way to tell the difference between a 350 and a 305?
EDIT: just found out the engine came out of an 88 truck... I still want to make 100% sure though. any casting # i can get or something that will help identify it?

Get the casting numbers off the block or the heads and do a search on http://www.mortec.com and see what you have.

casting number is located in back of the passanger side head on the ledge where the tranny bellhousing bolts to the block, some blocks will have 5.0 or 5.7 stamped next to it (more towards the middle in back of the intake) depending on year. On the pad in front of the passanger side head can be found a partial vin from the origional vech. as well as a suffix code that you can look up.
