MSD Ignition
MSD Ignition
I'm looking into getting my MSD igition pretty soon here and I had a sort of stupid question about it.
I will be getting the 6AL ignition (Part #6420) and I was wondering if it would hurt the ignition at all to put it on my 305 carbed motor for now. I ask this because in a couple of months my 383 stroker will be finished and I'll be swapping that in, and hopefully using the same MSD ignition. Is there anything besides normal wear that I should watch out for? Or should I just keep it on my shelf until my 383 is done?

Look for made in mexico stickers. If so send it back.
MSD has / had parts made in both places. So does most places.
But stuff from Mexico sucks compared to the made in USA stuff.
MSD only has 1-2 coils made in the US, rest are Mexico junk.
Same with summit n others, just got a coil for my external coil HEI mod and got a sum-G5215 as its the only one they have made in the US anymore.
Rest are mexico junk.
