LT4 hotcam?
Is the LT4 hotcam a good cam to put in an LB9? I know it's a really mild cam, but that's comaring it to a stock LT1 cam.
I'm looking to do a heads and cam swap next semester, and I really need something to compliment a ported and polished LB9 head. You guys think I could go bigger than the hotcam? Custom grind, maybe?

Is this for your vert?
I mean, is this with a 5 speed behind it or not? Rear gears?
What are the specs on the LT4 hot cam again? I thought it was fairly agressive...?

hmm, that should work nice with ported heads and intake. Assuming you are comfortable tuning it up for that. Not sure how easy that will be.

I have a guy who can tune the car after it's all said and done. Lots of tuners in the STL area

Better get screw in studs for your heads too or at least pin them. The 525 will pull the pressed in studs right out. Also have to upgrade to a high quality duel spring which would result in getting the spring pockets cut. Some say beehive springs and thats good but they cost more just the same.

Remember that .525" lift is with 1.6 rockers. Its .492" with regular 1.5 rockers. That cam is pretty big for a 305. The car would feel sluggish under 2000 rpms and not get very good gas mileage. I would recomend a ZZ4 or ZZ9 for a 305, first. Or the Comp CC304, its 210/220 and around .500" lift.
I'm hoping when you have the heads done you will upgrade to screw-in studs too, right?
The Manley 22409-16, 22410-16, and 221423-16 springs will all work as stock replacements for Chevy heads at 1.25" diameter.
