If you have not already fixed this problem I might be of some help. I have a 1988 Firebird Formula, the stock engine was a 305 TBI I have had alot of problems with that set up. My last problem was the same as yours. When I first started it up, she acted as if it was not wanting to idle correctly, I could rev the engine a little and this would stop, and everything was fine. It grew into a larger problem. It began to code when I turned the on, it would not idle, it would not start. I went to the local auto parts house, and picked up an O2 sensor and a computer, both we bad parts. Went back picked up another set and the computer was bad, I found that out after taking it to my local Chevy dealership to be placed on the machine. The machine said that computer was bad as well and I told them to order one. After that the car would ilde but ran horrible and I finally went to the dealership and bought and O2 sensor and the problem was fixed. This might not help you but if you are at a loss to what to do as I was, try the O2 sensor. In the tech section they have alot of information about the O2 sensor, it was very helpful to me in my time of need.
