2 or 4 bolt

Axle/Gears: 3.23
2 or 4 bolt
Does anyone happen to know if most camaros or if my 84 Z28 has a 2 bolt or a 4 bolt main on the engine? thanks id appreciate it.

Hey lanmankilla,
It's my understanding that most if not all thirdgen "production" blocks
( 305+350) were 2 bolt blocks. The 4 bolt blocks were used in "police"
packages. 4 bolt main blocks are available from GM in the $800 dollar
range. There are LOADS of 2 bolt main blocks on the street at/near
the 600hp level. The only way to really tell which block you have is
to pull the oil pan. Happy New Year !!

It'll more than likely be a 2 bolt block, and you'll more than likely never need to care.
