Just take the AC belt off. Use the PS belt for w/AC application by itself.

I did that for a couple of years. No problems. The AC belt doesn't contribute that much to the PS drive.

Confused... does you car have 1 drive belt (serpentine setup), or several V-belts?

Up through '87 there were multiple belts. '82-'85 were all V belts. '86 & '87 had a flat multi-groove belt for the alternator, which also went over the water pump (and crank, of course). There was a V belt for the air conditioner, which went over the 2nd groove of the power steering pulley, as well as crank and water pump pulleys (4 pulleys total, the only such belt in the system). Behind the air conditioner belt is another V belt that goes from the crank pulley to the back groove of the power steering pulley. Finally was a belt that went from the front of the water pump pulley to the A.I.R. pump.

If you only have one belt going over the air conditioning compressor and the power steering pump, you've got one belt missing. Your power steering pulley has two grooves, right? If not, it's a thrown together system, and you're going to have to find a belt that goes over the power steering pulley one way or another.

push the power steering pump as close to the centre of the car as possible, then measure with a piece of string, run it through the crank pulley and through the power steering pump pulley, you might get a measurement of 20" (508mm) if you get a measurement of 19.5" (495mm), round up to 20". i dont know how you measure V-belts in Germany but in north america we measure it in inches and in incriments of 1". if your belts are measured in metric then measure it in metric. take your measurements to the auto store and buy a V-belt according to your length.

PS: the sizes i gave you are random numbers i imagined, THEY ARE NOT THE SIZES YOU WANT.

PPS: how fast have you gotten that camaro on the autoban?...dont hold back either

Ok i am looking fore a belt.....,thats the better way!

When i drive on the Autobahn....and pusch down.....Topspeed is 140 miles.....,but this car is for germany not fast..,is normal.....a lot of car drives with 250-300 Km/h on the Autobahn.
My little Peugeot205gti is verry fast...about 230 KM/h and that with 155 HP....

I'm not completely sure where you would get it, but the Goodyear part number is 15406, and the Dayco part number is 15400 (I got those #'s from www.partsamerica.com). I think the GM part number is 09433722, according to www.gmpartsdirect.com, but I wouldn't swear to that.
