1991 Bird acting weird

Hello all. My 1991 Firebird (305 TBI 103k) is acting really weird. When I start it up the engine revs to about 1500 RPM's, then it idles down to about 500 RPM's and dies. If I give it gas before it dies, it pops and spits but it will keep it running. I took it for a little drive the other day to see what it did on the road. When I try to accelerate hard it bogs down and has no power whatsoever. So far I have got a full tank of gas in it w/ a bottle of fuel system cleaner and changed out the fuel filter to no avail. I got it to the point when it finally warms up after giving it gas over and over again it will stay running, but it almost dies at 500 RPM's then revs back to 1500 then back to 500 over and over again. I am at a loss. Any help would be great

Sorry it took so long to get back. No the service engine light doesn't come on. I think I may have a vacuum leak, but am unsure. I will be playing with it more in the next couple of days. Hopefully I can find out more. 12 hour days are killing me.
