ticking valve
i have a ticking valve.i have hydraulic roller cam.my heads have screw in studs.i tighten the rocker arm ,the ticking goes away for about 3 seconds and it starts ticking again.it comes back gradually getting louder.i tighten it again...same thing.if i had press in studs i would say stud pulling out of head.however this is not the case.im thinking it must be a lifter problem.these lifters have less than 500 miles on them.anyone have any ideas.

if it was flat tappet, i'd say it's a bad cam. I doubt it, since it's a roller.
Only one valve ever does this? I'd inspect the valvetrain very carefully... Loose rocker, retainer, lock, etc ? Something should be visable. A bad lifter could do it, but everytime anyone has mentioned "collapsed lifter" on this board, it's never actually turned out to be the case.
