1989 Camaro Dies

WELL I HAVE A PROBLEM AND IM ABOUT TO GIVE UP ON IT WELL MY 1989 CAMARO RS TBI 5.0 TURNS OFF OR DIES ON ME WHEN IAM GOIN IN LOW RPM'S IT ALSO SOMETIMES DIES ON ME WHEN I AM ON A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN IT SEEMS TO ACCELERATE ITS SELF SOME TIMES TOO I DONT KNOW WHAT IT CAN BE IT ALSO SEEMS TO CHUG OR SURGE WHEN I HOLD THE RPM'S IN 1000-1500 IT SEEMS LIKE ITS CHOKING OR SOMETHING I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT CAN BE IF ANYBODY KNOWS CAN U PLEASE HELP ME THANKS I WILL APPRECIATE IT

Axle/Gears: Stock
check the wires are they the right firing order also the IAC located on the throttle body passager side I believe. this causes the idle to go up and down on it's own

Transmission: Beat to heck 700R4
Check your computers keyboard first, somethings screaming there.

IAC dirty
Fuel Pressure? (have you checked it? And no, just because you smell fuel doesn't mean you have sufficient pressure, neither does visually seeing fuel squirting at your injector)
Fuel filter
clogged injector (spray pattern?)
dist hold down bolt/cap/rotor/wires/plugs/firing order (i.e. ignition system)

I dunno if TBI has a MAF or not, but you could try unplugging MAF if so equipped. It'll switch to a failsafe mode bypassing a few sensors.

Timing..... timing chain

Fuel pump..


Hope any of those help. THink about each one and why it could cause what your seeing...

yea i will check those out if going to get a mechanic to check it well thanks those ideas ill help me i knoew think that it has to do wit fuel or air
