I always recommend that the chip reflects the injector size used, will the engine run correctly if you don't? More than likely. I believe there is a sticky somewhere for injector/HP. Usually the stock injectors are quite capable of supporting decent HP until you start upgrading H/C/I.
im trying to find out because i dont want to have to go out and buy new injectors after i just bought a set. as of right now the motor is stock and come this summer the cam, and heads. slp runner ported plenum and im getting a ported gm base. in a week. what if i just go with the 24lbs. and at the end of the week im getting a tpis prom from some one. its already set for.calibrated for headers, cooler thermostat, and better intake airflow, as in no air filters, no MAF screens, and a larger throttle body

Modification + prom = power
It is essential when modifing a computorized car that You decide exactly what kind of power you are wanting to make. Everything must work in harmony. As an example if you are getting more fuel and air into the engine but left the stock exhaust in place you are not getting all the power from the previous upgrades because of your restricted exhaust. Bigger injectors + adjustable fuel pressure regulator + better spark MSD 6AL + bigger throttle body + bigger exhaust + prom made for those specific upgrades = lots more power. Take anything out of the equation and you are losing power, and possible for car to run like crap.
ok i got the full exhaust, descreen maf. ported lower intake, im ordering a 52mm tb. i have a fully worked 700. adjustable fuel pressure regulator. msd 6al box. and im getting a tpis and im gunna send it out to tpis to have it redone.

Third gens did not come with stock 24lbs injectors. Either 19lbs or 21lbs. If you change them out without modifying the PROM then you will be running the risk of WAY too rich and we will see you posting back shortly afterwards...

IMO a 10% increase is on the high side of what the ECM can adjust the injector pulse width to compensate for the higher flow if the extra fuel isn't needed, which would be more of a problem at idle.
Reducing the fuel pressure can compensate for the extra fuel if it isn't needed, but also reduces fuel atomization efficiency.
