install the distributor.
Got a new distributor from summit, Is it "normal" that you need some force to install it? I lined up the oilpump etc and the distributor falls in to place, but to get it fully down, ( the last 3mm ) i need to twist it left and right aswell as apply some pressure. Now it seals perfect against the intake. And I have tried to rotate the engine by hand, and no strange sound or anything seems to grind. I never done this before, and I just follow info from the net aswell as my service manual. I even reinstall the unit twice to be sure. And every time it needed the extra "push" to seal against the intake.
Car is a -91 corvette with a converted lt1 intake. So i use the small cap camaro distributor.
Thanks

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Sometimes they're like that; they fit kind of tight to the hole in the block that's right above the distributor gear.
If it went in all the way to the intake though, it's fine.
