I remember seeing on here that you must disconnect a plug near the distributor to get a correct timing reaqding. The engine is a LG4, don't think it matters but it can't hurt?
Anyway, where is this wire at?

Up through '86, it is actually a 4-wire flat connector. It goes from the distributor base to the firewall harness. It can sometimes be hard to locate, being stuck down among all the mess back there.

I through on some new intake manifold gaskets along with valve cover and carb gaskets to fix the high idle problem we addressed in the past.
Then, I couldn't find the connectors running from the battery and from the tach, so I wired up the battery lead straight to make sure she would run, and she did. Last week I found the connectors so I don't have to worry about that anymore :-D
Time to set the ignition timing and see why my throttle keeps sticking at WOT and she'll be good to go motor wise. Ohh, and I need to drop the pan...My friend was helping scrap off the gaskets and dropped the razor blade, down the lifter valley and it went down into the pan...I believe and hope...
