89 tpi sensor question

I am in the process of building my new harness for my motor swap. Everyting works at this point, and the harness is done, exept for one minor detail. My 85 v6 has a seperate coolant temperature sensor for the gauge... The 89 tpi engine I swapped in does not seem to have a second sensor. I hooked the one sensor I could find up to my computer. Is there another sensor I am missing?
Thanks!

IIRC, the guage sensor goes into the side of the engine block for coolant...the computer sensor goes into the block underneath the intake manifold in the front of the engine.

Hope this helps

It does!
When I get home for the weekend I will try and find the coolant sender. Do you know which side it is on?

Driver's side cylinder head between # 1 & 3 exhaust ports. Singe wire jobbie that runs the gague in the cluster. Don't know if it has the same calibration as a V6 motor, though.

For the guage? The 89 is on the driver's side...underneath the exhaust manifolds.

Hmmm. Possibly located on the head itself (?). I don't recall. I'll have to look later.

Ok.. thanks for the help! even if the calibration is incorrect, it would be nice to have SOME feedback when starting the motor for the first time.
Thanks..
