Fuel Supply Line Mystery
I am removing my tank to fix a fuel pressure issue. I am down to disconnecting the rubber lines at the tank; i am stuck at the thick supply line. The rubber female end will turn but it twists the hose all to crap. The male end does not move. What is the trick here to get the supply line undone?
Thanks..
Eric

X-acto knife slitting the hose lengthwise down the length of the metal nipple then peel it off like a banana and replace with a fresh piece of hose. Last thing you want to do is snap off that hose nipple over a $.25 piece of rubber hose. Rubber hoses get hard and brittle over many years and they can't stretch to slide over the shoulder you find on many automotive hose nipples. They also tend to "glue" themselves in place, too.
This trick also works wonders for getting heater hoses off the heater core nipples without cracking the heater core by twisting and tugging on it.

I don't think we are talking about the same type of hose. This is the "big" hose that comes off the metering assy- it has those metal crimps at both ends, one end has threads and the other has ? It sounds like a good idea, but a) where would I find that kind of fuel hose and b) how does it connect at the bottom where there's no thread? Advance doesn't seem to have it....
Part of what I'm asking is, isn't the top fitting supposed to move? I have had it soaking in PB for the last few hours.

I have a friend trying to help me with this, and he sent a picture (to verify what I was talking about) of this piece-it seems to be part of the actual hard line itself. So cutting it might not be the way to go.
That leave me with this: shouldn't that male-threaded piece on top turn to release the hose? It soaked in PB overnight with no results. Everytime I apply pressure, the hard line coming from the tank seems to give & bend more than I'd like.
This is pretty frustrating considering how much fun I'm going to have getting the tank out...
