Stalling, white smoke, Wont pass certain speed. HELP!!

My car wasnt going over 75 and then when i left pepboys today with **** for an oil change it wouldnt go over 60 then it stalled and the wheel locked while i was changin lanes and i got lucky not to hit the gaurd rail. White smoke started rising from under my hood and the car wouldnt start then when i finally did start it stall when i let the rpms drop under 1200. By the time i got it the one mile to my house it wouldnt go faster then 25 and is bucking like crazy.

I dont know what it is! i just changed the spark plugs to autolite xps and thats the only thing ive done.

Head gasket possibly

White smoke out pipe = burning antifreeze

The tires locking up was the motor hydrolocking. Just hope it didnt do too much damage.

Another scenario. overheated and melted down a few pistons...

they probly forgot the oil or something... as said before sounds like it hydrolocked and yes the white smoke was from coolant.

Good luck.. if u find no oil in your pan take it to pep boys

my exhaust is putting out white smoke and im down to about two thirds of the coolant i should have. I just filled the coolant about a week ago maybe a week and a half so its something bad hopefully just a hose is leaking in the engine bay but i doubt it since im putting white smoke out the exhaust. thanks for the help though.

Sounds like a blown head gasket.

The way I understood his post was that he was leaving Pep Boys after buying the required items for an oil change - NOT after having one done for him.

yea i was leaving after buying the stuff for my own oil change. My mechanic picked the car up today and he said its a head gasket. I think it might be there fault though because after my intake and exhaust manifolds were done my car was running hot and i thought it was just the guage going because the oil gauge had gone bad when i bought the car 7 months ago. I drove it for a few weeks like that and then it started heating into the red on the gauge and the heat wasnt working well so i check the coolant level and there was more than enough in the resevoir but there was way too little in the radiator. Im guessing by driving it around with too little coolant for soo long i blew the gasket and my only hope is to see if my mechanic will give me a break since the radiator wasnt filled and i dont have a single coolant spot on my driveway.

either that or im doing the engine swap i was going to do with the engine my mechanic said hed give me way sooner then i wanted to do it. I just need a donor car for a bunch of parts.
