i need to know where the headlight motor fuse is on an 87 formula. i need to pull it so the headlights stay up. i looked in 2 shop manuals and it does not list where it is.

To the best of my knowledge, a 1987 should still have the three-relay system, whereas 1988 and later have the headlight module to control the doors. In either case, the 1988+ models have a circuit breaker for each headlight door, while the earlier models have only fusible links to protect everything. You may have to remove the LH and RH headlight actuator relays while the lamps are on to prevent the motors from lowering. With a 1988+, you could remove the circuit breakers to prevent the light doors from lowering.

While the light doors are open, you can remove the TAIL fuse, and that should prevent them from lowering. You cannot drive that way, since the tail lights will not operate. If you only need them open to replace a lamp or perform work on them temporarily that should work on the earlier design controls.
