Ok, lets see if anyone can help with this. I have an 88 Iroc-Z 350TPI
I recently had to pull the motor out and redo the Freeze plugs, and cleaned the motor while it was out. I got it all back together and no more leaks, but new problems have come up. My new issue is the can spits and sputters alot, it will idel fine, and then out of nowere it will kick down and act like its going to cut off and jump back up. If i am at a light when it does this it will try to run me into the back of the car in front of me. It will cut off sometimes when the idel kicks down, but not always. The last few days it has been doing all this even more. Has anyone had this problem, or know anyone that has, and maybe what to do to fix it?

Also, I have never seen a car that has the fuel tank issues like mine does. The fuel take builds up so moch pressure that when i stop to get gas, and take the gass cap off it blows the capp right off. I love the car but it is becoming a Giant Pain in the ***. Can anyone help???

 

Your fuel tank should not be blowing the fuel cap off when releasing to get gas, if anything should be more of a vacuum, and a rush of air into the tank to fill it. Have you got any error codes? Checked fuel pressure?

 

I have checked the pressure, it checks out ok. I do not have a check engine light on, but I am going to check for codes with a scanner. I noticed last night that the check engine light does not work at all. I will post what i find.
