surging only when warm
stock 89 l98 iroc
Car smells very rich at idle & starts surging when it warms up .warmer it is the worse it gets .I have done a search & I checked all connections I saw & it's still the same .Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Transmission: Caged hamster that runs really fast
Axle/Gears: They are round, I know that much
i had a problem a while back with my L98 88 Iroc.....it was the TPS sensor and the dizzy, it was a MSD probillet dizzy, and they were not communicating with the comp right....check those, especially the TPS sensor

thanks 91 that was the fastest response ever . I will check the tps since it is probably original . any more ideas ? Thanks mike

Other than that, i can't remember if the L98 had an engine coolant temp sensor that reported info to the computer, cause one some systems it requires to know the coolant temp and if it senses it being too cold it will increase injector pulse width (the time the injector is on) and smell like gas.
Also check your MAF sensor, I had one go bad and the car would dump fuel out the exhaust on hot and humid days.

there is a sensor going into the intake under the bypass hose . dont know if it is a temp sensor or just the sending unit .i will check yhe manual on that . maf has been replaced but i have had one go bad not to long after it was installed .thanks mike

I beleive the temp sensor should be located in one of the cylinder heads, which one I forgot, but the TPS is on the side of the throttle body, the one on the bottom I beleive is the IAC, which check that too

surging solved
well i replaced the o2 sensor (pain) & it seemed to fix the fuel smell , but when it warmed up it began to surge again . unplugged the maf , problem solved . this is the 3rd 1 in 5 years & they arent cheap
