Thats strange.
I have tall valve covers on my engine and I had no problems.
What year is your engine?
If it's old then grab a manifold with egr from a later model v8 from scrap for cheap. Even grab a manifold without egr from scrap for cheap.

im not surprised its hitting, with the stock covers the egr valve is really close as it is
are you bent on having tall covers ?
do you really need tall covers ? you have high lift camshaft or something ?
do you hvae emissions equipment inspections there? if not then make a block off plate out of a piece of aluminum sign or plate
its easy
good luck

nice
that should fix the problem then
i didnt know they had spacers for the EGr like that, thats cool to learn/know, even though here we dont even have inspections or need to have EGR or anything else emissions intact
good luck
