Any thoughts on this setup?
I'm thinking about doing a carbon copy of what was done in this article, any thoughts on what it might run or anything that should be done different?

I have a hard time arguing with Vizard, but i'd prefer to use a split pattern cam. Then again, I can't argue with Vizard.
Especially after his next comment Sounds good, but I wouldn't expect the 447HP that they got. Expect maybe 380HP at the crank, since it's not being photographed for a magazine. The cameras add 50+ HP ya know.
hmm, 232cfm at .500" is about right for box stock vortecs, 232 @ .600" lift for aftermarket "better" vortecs seems a bit low.
cast-iron CH350C Lightning cylinder heads from Enginequest. These heads are essentially Vortec replacements, sharing many features with the excellent OEM Vortec heads, but sufficiently improved in ways that would help achieve more power than the stock Vortecs
We had frequent PHR contributor David Vizard spec our cam, and he selected a custom COMP Cams hydraulic roller single-pattern grind, with 224 degrees duration (at .050) on the intake and exhaust lobes, and 0.352 inch lobe lift. David specified a relatively tight 108-degree lobe separation angle,

Yea i was thinking the same thing about the horsepower, any ideas on what this could run in the 1/4? I have a th350 w/ a 2800 stall behind it going through a stock 9 bolt with stock L98 gears (3.27 I'm guessing)

You mean a stock 10 bolt, right? Or did a bolt fall out somewhere along the line?
Sounds like a solid build, what was the total cost or did they say? Fast burn crate engines are going for under 5000 these days, plenty fewer headaches....

9 bolts were used in his year. Australian rear end somehow.
That should cut a high 12 quarter mile. It'd be quick that's for sure.
