tranny does not want to catch the gears and when i put it in reverse the engine shuts off. also i noticed that the oil pressure gauge dropped to like 30 and the motor is not idleing properly.

uhh might sound like a stupid question but have you found out what the peddle all the way to the left does (the clutch?) if you are already intimately familiar with that then its your clutch fork or pilot bearing, or pressure plate or clutch... or it could be the clutch cappacitor autozone has em for about $6 plugs into the tranny just infront of the drive shaft on drivers side...very easy
