Ignition Cylinder
How hard is it to fit a new ignition cylinder in a third gen (1982 car). I was looking at the steering column and it looks to be one piece where the ignition cylinder is.
I bought an aftermarket cylinder on ebay, I hope that these are as good as OEM and fit properly, anyone any experience with them. I wanted to buy OEM but no seller would mail it to Ireland so I had to go with aftermarket.

hi there you need to pull the steering wheel and steering lock plate and turn signal switch assembly and then there is a torx head retainer screw pin that keep the lock in the column housing
need a steering wheel or pulley puller, and a lock plate compressor, both about 15 bucks USD at any auto parts store
good luck

Re: Ignition Cylinder
Thanks for The Information Randy. It sound like a lot of work. I have a steering puller which I bought in the US last year but I don't have a lock plate compressor. I will try and order one but most places won't ship outside the USA.............. this is an ongoing saga.
