okay, so i've searched and read the the two center bolts will be at a different angle, and that they would need shaved down to capacities. basically i'm wondering if those are the only two problems, how much of a problem the center bolts is, and an exstimate on how much the shaving would cost.

Any particular reason you aren't just working over your LG4 heads? Other than chamber and intake valve size (along with the bolt differences you mentioned), they're the same heads.
No particular problem with centerbolt covers. They seal better than perimeter bolt covers.

Re: l98 heads on an lg4
Well, I'll try to list the pros & cons of each that I can think of:
L98
Pro:
1.94" intake valves
Cons:
Need to be shaved about .035" to reduce the chamber size
Shaving heads that much requires shaving the intake
LG4
Pro:
Proper size chambers
Clean-up shave won't require shaving the intake
Cons:
Expense of installing 1.94" intake valves
Both heads need something done about the press-in rocker studs if you put a healthy cam in. Both benefit from some clean-up porting, especially the valve bowls.
