Those are EXTREMELY EASY to replace.
ALl you gotta do, is drill about a ½" hole in the sheet metal, over each of the covered-up rivets; then drill the rivets out with a ¼" bit. Put the new motor in with the BIG aluminum pop rivets. Done.
It takes longer to get the door panels and the water shield off and back on, than to change the window motor.
You don't have to disturb ANYTHING ELSE when doing this.
If you've never messed with windows before, you're going to be spending a while getting it all adjusted back right. Take your time, be patient, don't button it back up until it's right.

OIC...
Water isn't supposed to get to those parts. If they're THAT bad, it probably means the outer window felt has fallen to pieces. You might want to put in a new one of those while you've got it apart, to keep it from happening again.

Re: HELP power window regulator nightmare
when ever i have to pull the complete assembly i clamp the regulator in a vice, to hold the gear in place while i do the motor i clamp the gear to the regulator with vise grips. don't tighten the vice too much, just enough to hold the regulator securely, same with the gear.
this site is about swapping from manual to power windows, but it has some pics of what the regulator should look like when you get the motor back on.

Another tip that should prevent you from losing another chunk of your forearm when you go to do the other side. You should drill a small hole through the half moon shaped gear and put a small bolt or nail through the hole. That way, the gear has a positive stop when the nail or bolt touches the regulator assembly. This will keep the tension on the spring and gear when you disconnect the motor, so that the spring doesn't come flying off, or the gear pinching your fingers. Little trick I was taught a long time ago.

Re: HELP power window regulator nightmare
ok guys thanks for all the help will let you know how it goes i ordered 2 new motors yesterday through ebay got em both shipped for under 40 bucks just waiting on those now, heres another question what is the best way to get the regulators out i have tried all kinds of ways even tried to go through the top,but no dice im thinking they need to go through the bottum of the door on the latch side thats the biggest hole.hopefully when i got to do the pass side i wont have to take it out.those picts helped out alot denn thanks, see the spring in the center mine popped off do i need to take the assemble out to put the tension back on it or what? so now it looks like im just waiting on parts will post when i get it going again hopefully this weekend....
