Re: hesitation problem
Does this happen every time, or just rarely? Just started happening, been doing it for years? Just started as you were taking it out of winter storage and it ran fine last year?
This is the crossfire motor?
Once it gets going, it's good and quick? Or sluggish and feels wrong?
Air filter and fuel filters ok? You check your timing? You make sure all cylinders are getting a spark at all? How do the plugs look? Recent, old? Any plug showing a sign it doesn't match the rest? ie, one is coated in black oil sorta thing?
I'm not familiar with the crossfire setup, so i'm just plugging you with general questions and suggestions. If it's a specific crossfire problem I'm of no help to you.

Re: hesitation problem
i pulled it out on friday it ran fine all day friday and saturday, saturday night i drove it and thats when it started happening, i changed the cap and rotor and its a little better now , its got new plugs and wires , and no its not the crossfire motor, my mechanic friend thinks it may be the carb , i got a spare one lying around so im going to put it on and try it. when i brought it out i changed the air filter and filled it up with 91 octane gas.

OK. It's the fuel filter. $2.50. It's the one that looks really small and like a non-metallic tube, they stand out nicely in that aisle. You'll need a 15/16" wrench to get the old one out. Make sure you keep the white plastic seal on the end of the threads or else it'll leak like a sieve.
You had it parked and all the sediment settled in the tank. Then you fired it up and it sucked up all the crap and it went and plugged up the fuel filter.
I'd put money on it being the fuel filter. (ok, not much though
)
Don't swap the carb just yet, you might be introducing all new problems if you swap to an unknown carb (ie, not a known good carb).
I'd guess it's just waking up from it's winter slumber sorta problems. Ie, nothing "unadjusted" itself over the winter. Look for the type of things related to sediment build up.
Try fuel filter first. If that doesn't work then maybe check your air valve tension (shot in the dark, but just touch it with your finger to make sure it doesn't flop open)... Then try the other carb.
