I have not figured out that L69 engine yet... I have an 81 TA that I bought and it did not have an engine so I decided to put a 455 I had laying around rather than the usual 350 I use. A friend of mine came over and had a few things to say about the 455, one he told me that the 81 TA came with the option of a 455, I want to know if that is true. Also he was gripping about me using a Lunati Voodoo cam .496 .512 lift he said I should have gone with a smaller Comp cam. Do yall agree? I also just bought a B&M 400 trans for 970.00 he told me I could have had one of my 400's built with a shift kit for 400 and it would have been the same. Is he correct? Like I said before im a 1st and 2nd gen man. But I have 4 3rd gens that are growing on me.

 

i know that the 6.6L were in the older ones along with the 301 later on, but i dunno about 455 though

Last year for the factory 455 was 1976. The last of the big motors was the 400/403 in 1979. After that was just the 305 chevy and 301 pontiac motors.

 

Thats what i thought, I was affraid of mis stating fact or what I thought was.
