pullin the 305tpi
i'm pulling the stock 305tpi in my 1992 trans am because i spun a rod bearing and i'm going to drop in another 305 and throw my tpi on it, i already have all of the parts and tools so how long do you think it should take me? this is my first engine removal, replacment, or swap ever so any tips or hints any of you might have would probably help me alot. are there any tips to making this replacement easy?

Re: pullin the 305tpi
I rebuilt my engine last year and what really helped was taking a video of your engine compartment and everything on the engine. Trace wires to show where they go so it will be a snap to replace. Also get some sandwich bags and label them to what bolts etc go where. May sound corny but for a beginner it does make a big difference. Once you start taking the engine out, (the easy part) should only take a couple of hours. Putting it back in and hooking everything back up will take a bit longer. I guarantee having all the video footage will help the install process dramaticly and a much better chance of hooking up everything correctly the first time without any problems. Trust me, after a week or so when the engine is being rebuilt or whatever you will forget where crap goes.
