hey i have a 1986 camaro TPI 305 the car runs horrible when you first start it, it will idle fine but you can barely drive the car, once it warms up to about 160 or so it runs perfet... what could be its problem. its got a brand new egr valve and a brand new thermostat. and brand new air cleaners K&Ns let me know what you think

Is this the year with what they call the 9th injector? It's supposed to act like a choke and give the engine extra fuel. You didn't by pass the coolant lines thru the air intake did you?

 

The ninth injector was used on 1985-1988 motors. Yours should have it then.

 

yea it has the ninth injector... i did not bypass the throttle body collant hoses either.... all i know is it was running fine before i took it apart the only thing was that it takes a while for it to idle down when you first start it its idles about 1000 RPMs and then once its warmed up it idles about 600 to 700 rpms and when its warm it drives and runs fine? confusing i know everything is hooked back up i checked everything again

i cant find any vacume leaks it all seems tight but its weird when its warm its fine... IDK im lost

 

What did you take apart that may have caused your problem? Also try posting this under the tpi section. There may be more knowledgable people there. I've never had a tpi system.
