Service Engine error code 13
Service Engine error code 13
Hey everyone. I am looking for alittle help here. My fiancee has a 1987 Pontiac Firebird. About a month ago, the service engine light came on. He bought the code reader and it brought up codes 12, 13 and I think 44. He replaced the O2 sensor but code 13 will not go away. Is this something to worry about?
Thanks for the help.

Re: Service Engine error code 13
13 indicates a lean condition. The computer sees conditions that indicate to it that the carb is not feeding enough fuel.
The repair may be as simple as replacing the fuel filter.

Could it be bad gas? He has a 97 Honda Prelude and it started with the O2 sensor. After almost a grand in money, it turns out to be the fuel injectors. Two of them were broken.

Here is the update. He replaced the fuel filter and still have the error code. When he bought the car, the guy told him the fuel pumps dont work correctly when first starting. He has to pump the gas to get the car to start.
He is about to put the car on Craigslist.com not to sale but for someone to use as parts.
