HVAC not switching properly -- Vacuum problem

After reinstalling the newly rebuilt engine, all my hvac is coming through the defroster. If I switch it to vent, it still comes out the top of the dash like it's set on defrost. I noticed the vacuum line that runs along the firewall was broken off about midway across the firewall. I am unable to find where it is supposed to hook in and figured this is the problem. There is no vacuum to switch the vents.

Does anyone know where that line is to connect to? Or if that is not the vacuum line for the hvac, does anyone know where it is and where it is too hook up?

Thanks,

Pat
