Code 32 and pinging

Under hard acceration I get detonation or pinging. Engine light came on and I got a code 32. My question is are the two related? I will check for vacuum at the EGR solenoid tonight.

Re: Code 32 and pinging

They could be. The exhaust is actually fuel and has a much lower oxygen content. The computer pulls fuel and adds timing when the EGR is active.

That does make sense. Which in turn could cause a rich condition right? Thanks for the reply.
