ok, i just put on a new belt and for some reason its touching. its almost like the tensior pulley is upside down, but it only goes on one way. can some one help please. the car is a 87 2.8 with out a/c. its touching where the belt goes over the water pump and under the tensioner pulley.

 

Belts most likely too long...is the belt number right for the car? (number on the belt not the box, cuz you know parts people sometime mix things up when returning stuff).

 

yes its the same length as the old one, and i even tried putting the old one on and it didnt work.
