i was wondering..... how hard is it to replace the head gasket on a 1990 RS with the L03? How time consuming and costly is it? thanks alot.

If you replace one side I figure you might as well do the other, $50 for the gaskets, and about 13 hours to fix. At a shop I've seen quotes from $700 - $1200 for the labor and gaskets

I would probably allow more for gaskets though, you will basically need all of the gaskets for the top end, and you dont want to go cheap. Things you will need to know are: Installing distributor and setting timing, setting valve lash, need manuals for torque sequence of heads (you can go inside to out with a star pattern, but best to follow manufacture specs). YOu will also need a good torque wrench, and some basic handtools.
