350 in 85 z28
Me and my brother recently took up taking out the 305 that was in my camaro and dropping in a 350 out of an old '74 c10, and we've been working on it for about 5 months and it's just about ready to drive.
From what I can remember my brother redid all the oil seals and checked the bearings and everything seemed to be fine on the engine.
We cleaned the engine bay up a little bit, got everything working right on it (except the gauges) and we hear a knock... The car also has some pretty bad vibrations going on on the passengers side. A friend of mine told me to check the torque converter and one of the bolts was really loose so we tightened it back down, and after that it still knocked. So the guy said it could be a rod knocking. Me or my brother don't know a whole lot about mechanic work and we're pretty much at a loss here because we don't know what else to do. Has anybody ever run into this kind of problem before?

it sounds like something knocking (a constant tick tick tick tick) and I can only really hear it from under the car... I'm guessing it could be a warped flywheel, bad torque converter, headers knocking on the frame, exhaust leak, or the rod knocking like my friend suggested, and we just really don't know how to check.

See if you can find a mechanic's stethoscope to locate the sound, or you can even just improvise with a piece of tubing held up to your ear.
