L98 Balancer, Internal or External???

I'm trying to purchase a new balancer for my newly rebuilt 88 L98 350 motor, and as usual, I'm perplexed as to whether I need internal or external balance. I'm pretty sure they're internally balanced, but this one I'm looking at says it's externally balanced for the late model, 89-up, 305/350 sbc's. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...2832797&rd=1,1 So what's the deal? Did they just list it wrong or what? I've also looked at other ones that say they'll fit any internally balanced 350 from 55-97. The question I have on those is the timing tab location. The older 350's had the tab at the 2 o'clock position, and my L98 has it at the 12 o'clock position. So wouldn't the TDC mark be in the wrong place on those balancers when used with the newer timing cover? Hopefully, one of you guys can chime in on this and straighten me out on this whole issue. Thanks in advance.

ALL SBCs EXCEPT the 400 are internally balanced

That's what I figured. So what about the timing tab location issue?

All SBC's except 400's and those that use 400-type cranks are internally balanced. 383's are often external balance, although aftermarket 3.75" stroke cranks are available in both internal and external balance.

Buy a timing tab that uses cover bolts to fasten it on. Use a piston stop to verify TDC when you put the engine together.

Kind of scarey when a place that calls itself "Raceparts" doesn't know how to describe the parts it sells.

Lol. That's why I figured I'd ask you guys before I plunked down any money with them. In fact, I think I'll shop around some more. Who knows what part they're liable to send me huh?
