q-jet with rpm intake?

I have a performer rpm intake on my 350. The 350 currently isn't being used and I would like to put the intake on my 305 H.O. for the time being. The question is, Will my q-jet fit on the regular rpm intake. I have an adaper plate for spread bore I think, or something like that. Any thoughts?

A spreadbore carb won't mount on the squarebore RPM intake. You could use an adapter, but you might run into hood clearance issues.

Re: q-jet with rpm intake?

Mounting a big wide spreadbore carb like a QJet onto a squarebore (Holley) mounting flange intake will always cost power. It's gotta squeeze things in around the big fat seconaries pretty bad to get it to seal up.

If you just need to get it up and running then go right ahead. But if you want to get your money's worth, buy the correct QJet/spreadbore version of the RPM intake or get a holley/squarebore carb.

Also, the RPM intake is a tight fit under a stock 3rd gen hood. Putting a ~3/4" adapter plate between the carb and intake will make hood clearance issues just that much worse.

Re: q-jet with rpm intake?

I run the performer RPM spreadbore manifold, and I like it. That, by itself, fits under the hood ok with the Qjet, on a transam hood.
