Engine: 85 LG4-non cc carb(building a 350)
Transmission: Rebuilt 700R4,vette servo,2200stall
Axle/Gears: 2.73 Posi
Just picked up a 350 what should i do?? Need help
i just picked up a 1977 LM1 350 short block from a Impala....It was just rebuilt 700 miles ago and has a LT-1 cam..changed the bottom end to standard bore 9to1 comp standard size on rods and mains...what heads,intake,carb..etc would be good..and the cheapest way...im all new to building an engine and moding them so any info will help...thanks

the LT-1 cam is soild but the 77 comes with a 8:1 comp ratio and he changed it to a 9:1 ratio it has flat tappet lifters to

just want a nice daily driver with a 350 that pushes maybe 300-350 hp..go to the track from time to time..someone told me to add vortec heads and intake..and a 650cfm carb do you think that is good

I would look for a better cam, some vortec heads and a decent intake. A nice carb to round it off, and you should be able to make your HP goal without trying to hard. If you are really doing the budget build, you could score a decent used carb and intake, Junk Yard the heads, buy a cam kit with springs, etc., and have the heads modified for the lift. You should be able to come in under a 1000 or right around. Probably a little over when you count gaskets and all the little stuff you always forget to add when you calculate. I like to figure out a budget, and then multiply it by 150%. If you budget 1000 figure 1500. It tends to be more likely.
